Jim brings a wealth of experience to his role as Executive Director, from his time as a linguist and Bible translator in rural Nigeria, to working as a management consultant for several years, and to executive leadership roles in higher education and faith-based organizations. Scovia is a graduate from National University of Rwanda and has experience working with local and international aid organizations. Scovia loves to interact with people, which is why she is a perfect fit for These Numbers Have Faces, where she said she is living out her dreams to help empower others.
Amelia fell in love with Africa while working with an orphanage in Kenya. She often says that while she hopes to have had an impact in those kids lives, they have changed her life forever! From an early age, Francoise watched her single mother work hard to provide for her children and send them to school. Francoise credits her family, community, and the support of non-profit organizations for where she is today — in a position to help Rwandan students rise up to be the leaders they were born to be!

Isaac started his career with a degree in Business Information Technology and a passion for serving others. Before joining These Numbers Have Faces as the University Leadership Program Associate, he worked in many roles for a local telecommunications company. You might say that Isaac loves to communicate! When he isn’t working, Isaac loves to play and watch soccer, swimming, listening to music, and spending time with his family.

Sarah was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, but school and work have taken her all over the world. While working with street children in Ethiopia, she saw the importance of education, and developed a passion for providing access and opportunities to everyone. In 2008, from the couch of his apartment Justin founded These Numbers Have Faces by helping one friend from South Africa attend university. Justin holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from Westmont College and an MA in International Conflict Resolution from Portland State University. An obsessive soccer fan and weekend landscaper, Justin lives in Portland, Oregon with his lovely wife Trisha, daughter Josephine, and their backyard chickens.

Erik is a business leader who has developed broad experience with numbers and analytics through his 17 years with Lam Research. His knowledge of financial planning, program management, and business analysis don’t just make him a valuable addition to the Board of These Numbers Have Faces, but also allow him to pour into the businesses being built through the Accelerate Academy. Erik and his family love to stay busy from basketball games to crabbing in the Pacific Ocean!

Kris is a career educator. She grew up in Hong Kong and began teaching in 1986. Her journey has included marriage, two children, growing in faith, and accomplishing her PhD in Education. She and her husband, Bill, travel when they can, and enjoy immersing themselves in authentic, cultural experiences. Kris is honored to serve on the board for These Numbers Have Faces and is excited to contribute whatever she can to promote its mission.

Courtney has been a realtor in the Portland Metropolitan area for 6 years. She focuses on residential real estate. After traveling to Rwanda with These Numbers Have Faces in 2018, Courtney found a passion for helping students reach their full potential. Courtney loves to visit the Oregon Coast and go fishing with her husband, two kids, and their black pug dog, Oscar. Courtney attends River West Church in Lake Oswego, a church partner of These Numbers Have Faces.
