Shallon was born and raised in Rwanda’s Eastern Province. Shallon is the third-born, with two brothers and one sister. Shallon and her family have faced many challenges over the years, including being able to afford school fees, poor community attitudes towards education, and difficulty affording basic necessities. Despite these challenges, Shallon experienced many positives growing up with her immediate and extended family, such as social connection, positive leadership, and a focus on education. Shallon’s mother valued education and worked hard to find ways for Shallon and her siblings to attend school.

Shallon now studies Accounting and Finance at the University of Rwanda. She dreams of using her education and skills to help transform her community. 

When she’s not in school, Shallon likes to listen to music and read books.
