Rodrigue was born second in a family of four children. His father has struggled with health issues since Rodrigue was born, which has been a significant challenge for his family. Rodrigue’s mother is a farmer and has struggled to secure basic needs for their family. 

Rodrigue was born and raised in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. He grew up in a community where most young men drop out of school due to poverty, joining the military or police services. This was a significant challenge for Rodrigue, but he worked hard to continue his studies and finish school. 

Now, Rodrigue attends the University of Rwanda, studying Business Information Technology. Rodrigue hopes that with an education he will be able to secure sustainable employment and provide for his family. He also dreams of making remarkable changes in his community, acting as a role model to other youth and encouraging others to work towards making their community a better place. 

Outside of the classroom, Rodrigue sings in his church choir. He is also active in several clubs at school, serving as secretary in two of them.
