JOURNEY

    • March 1, 2021 – Prosper said his biggest lesson from 2020 was: “I learned that it is better to save for the future because this period of COVID-19 caused many employees to stop working. Hence, their consumption mostly depended on their savings.”

BIO

Prosper was born and raised in Kiziba refugee camp in Rwanda as a Congolese refugee. He is the fourth child among six in their family. Life was not easy because his parents were not able to satisfy their needs. During his primary level studies, he told his parents that he had dreams of being the important person in the community like a teacher, doctor, leader and so on. They always told him that he can reach his dreams if he persisted in studies. Prosper really worked hard with the ambition of attending university and fortunately, he got the chance and he is finding the way to reach his dream.

Prosper completed his secondary studies with distinction, this allowed him to be a teacher at the school in his community. Being a teacher at the primary level didn’t mean he reached his dream. He still wanted to be a higher educator so he can play a role in the development of Africa. His refugee status didn’t block him from thinking broadly about Africa. University education will assist Prosper in playing an important role in his community.
