Peter was born into a family of nine people. Peter and his siblings often spent time at his grandparents’ house, since his grandmother was the primary caregiver in his family. Peter’s parents both died when he was just five years old. Then, just four years later, his grandfather also died. So, his grandmother became their sole support. She worked very hard to provide for Peter and his family as best she could. Thankfully, there were also aunts and uncles who provided some support as well. But life was full of challenges. Financial stability seemed elusive.

Peter grew up in a rural village. Most people were subsistence farmers and cattle herders. A few were small shopkeepers who struggled to keep their businesses going. Again, life was full of challenges for everyone.

Peter attends the University of Rwanda, where he is studying Accounting and Corporate Finance. His dream is to be able to gain enough sound business experience that he can help educate and promote sound business practices for farmers and small shop owners. Peter is passionate about working to improve economic development, productivity, prosperity, and the quality of life for those in his community.

In addition to his studies, Peter loves singing and serving as a leader in his church choir.
