JOURNEY

    • April 16, 2024 – Our students shared what was most meaningful to them from our recent Leadership Development Workshop. Peter said: “I was touched by the conversation concerning our background whereby we were encouraged not to be held back by our bad backgrounds, but instead create various opportunities in all challenges influenced by our backgrounds. Therefore this motivational conversation caught my interest and boosted my morale in enhancing my dreams as well. Ultimately, the conversation was so helpful, most especially Benson’s testimony, which reflected my experience being that we’re in the same career and almost experiencing the same situation as he did at campus.”

Peter’S CIRCLE

BIO

Peter was born into a family of nine people. Peter and his siblings often spent time at his grandparents’ house, since his grandmother was the primary caregiver in his family. Peter’s parents both died when he was just five years old. Then, just four years later, his grandfather also died. So, his grandmother became their sole support. She worked very hard to provide for Peter and his family as best she could. Thankfully, there were also aunts and uncles who provided some support as well. But life was full of challenges. Financial stability seemed elusive.

Peter grew up in a rural village. Most people were subsistence farmers and cattle herders. A few were small shopkeepers who struggled to keep their businesses going. Again, life was full of challenges for everyone.

Peter attends the University of Rwanda, where he is studying Accounting and Corporate Finance. His dream is to be able to gain enough sound business experience that he can help educate and promote sound business practices for farmers and small shop owners. Peter is passionate about working to improve economic development, productivity, prosperity, and the quality of life for those in his community.

In addition to his studies, Peter loves singing and serving as a leader in his church choir.
