Olive’s family has faced many challenges and difficulties. Her father passed away and her mom suffers with chronic illness. And it’s been very difficult for Olive’s older siblings to get jobs and support their family. Finding money for school fees has also been an incredible challenge. They were always struggling to get even their most basic needs. But somehow they survived.

Thankfully, Olive grew up in a community that encouraged her, even in the midst of all her family’s struggles. Her community inspired her to work hard and pursue her dreams, all the while trusting God to provide.

Olive attends Mt. Kenya University, where she is studying Business Information Technology. Her dream is to help develop and promote affordable technology that can be a driver for social change. She’s passionate about improving the lives, not only of her family, but also of her community.

Outside the classroom, Olive is active in her church. She’s a member of the worship team, teaches Sunday School, and serves as a Teen Leader. She also sings in several Gospel choirs. And she enjoys sports, especially swimming and working out at the gym.
