Merci was born to a loving and supportive family in Rwanda. Growing up, Merci’s parents worked incredibly hard to provide for Merci and his siblings. His family valued education, respect, and hard work. His family, along with many in his community, faced significant challenges and limited financial resources. Despite these challenges, Merci shared his family relies on their strong and cooperative family bond to overcome challenges. 

Merci now studies Veterinary Medicine at the University of Rwanda. Merci dreams of building a successful career that allows him to care for animals, improve public health through disease control, promote sustainable farming practices, and help support his family. He also hopes his education will inspire his relatives to pursue education, especially in science. With his degree, Merci aims to contribute to the development of livestock production, supporting food security and economic development within Rwanda. 

Outside of the classroom, Merci likes reading novels and writing.
