Marie Cynthia was born into a family of five children. She’s the only girl! Growing up, her father played a key role in her life until he passed away in 2021. His death had a significant impact on her family. Her mom doesn’t have a job. So, they survive as subsistence farmers. Her mom does everything possible to make sure her children can go to school. She sees the value of education. Marie Cynthia and her siblings all worked hard in school, wanting to make the most of every opportunity, even in the face of so many challenges as a family.

Marie Cynthia says the community she grew up in was wonderful in so many ways. People helped and supported each other. Children played together. She saw the difference the leaders of her community made in everyone’s lives. That made her want to be the same kind of leader, too.

Marie Cynthia attends the Adventist University of Central Africa, where she is studying Finance. Her dream is to give back to her community by creating new job opportunities in her community.

Outside the classroom, Marie Cynthia is active in her church. She also loves sports. She loves playing basketball and badminton in particular. She is also a member of the Peace and Love Proclaimers Club, and has served as their secretary.
