Lyecee grew up in Rwanda in a family of four, with many aunts and uncles close by. Lyecee was a curious and ambitious girl growing up. When she was younger, Lyecee was inspired by her uncles, many who were police officers. As she grew older, Lyecee started to dream of other paths. As she got older, she realized that “dreaming is not about what and whom you grew up with –  it’s about what you believe you can achieve.” 

Lyecee is now realizing her dream of studying History and Heritage Studies at the University of Rwanda. She dreams of working in areas such as museum management, cultural heritage conservation, and research. Lyecee hopes to use her education to inspire others, promote a sense of unity, and use history to guide communities in building a better future. 

Outside of school, Lyecee loves to travel, learn new skills (cooking, foreign language), and spend time with friends!
