Joyce was born into a family of eight – her father and mother, her grandmother, her four siblings, and herself. Growing up, her family experienced many challenges. It was hard at times to provide everything her family needed. Her parents valued education for their children and worked hard to provide their school fees. And somehow they not only survived, but made it through school.

Joyce grew up in a diverse community, where not everyone shared the same values. Her parents were careful to make sure Joyce and her siblings learned good values and habits from their community, not bad ones.

Joyce attends the Adventist University of Central Africa, where she is studying Software Engineering. Her dream is to secure a good job so that she can improve life, not only for her family, but also for her community as well.

Outside the classroom, Joyce helps an autistic girl with her studies and makes sure everything is fine with her.
