Josephine Joanna grew up in a remote area in Uganda. Josephine Joanna and her sister were raised by a strong, single mother. She grew up in a community where there was a lack of support for girls’ education. Many girls, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, faced challenges, such as early arranged marriages and pregnancies. Josephine Joanna’s mother faced pressure to discontinue her daughters’ education, but she remained committed to supporting their education. 

Josephine Joanna’s experiences helped shape her dreams of pursuing a career in Law. She is now studying Law at Kigali Independent University. Josephine Joanna hopes to use her degree to positively impact people’s lives, advocate for vulnerable communities, and make a difference in her community. 

In her leisure time, Josephine Joanna loves to socialize, watch movies, listen to music, and read. She also draws inspiration from certain influential public figures and enjoys watching their talks.
