Growing up in a small, tight-knit rural community in Rwanda deeply shaped Jessica’s values and dreams. One of five children, Jessica grew up in a humble and hardworking family. Jessica’s community, rich in tradition, is one where community members support each other in both celebrations and challenges. This feeling of support has helped her community navigate struggles, like economic difficulties and limited access to education and healthcare. These experiences taught Jessica to value hard work, collaboration, and the “importance of uplifting others.” 

Growing up in her community shaped Jessica into the person she is today. Now, she is studying Transport and Logistics Management at the University of Tourism, Technology and Business Studies. Her goal is to work in international freight management. She hopes to ensure Rwanda’s imports and exports are moving efficiently within global supply chains. 

When she’s not in class, Jessica enjoys reading. She loves that reading allows her to explore new ideas, see different perspectives, explore different cultures, and inspires her personal growth.
