BIO

James was born in Uganda but was raised in Rwanda, where he attended school. He is the first-born in a family of 5 children. Growing up, he loved to sing and he often helped his mother around the house. James’s mother valued working hard and education. These values helped James and his siblings continue with school, as they saw the importance of education. James experienced many difficulties after his mother passed away from breast cancer. While his family no longer lives together, he still is very connected to them. He hopes eventually to be closer to them. 

Now, James attends Mount Kigali University, studying Tourism and Hotel Management. He dreams of one day becoming a tour guide. James hopes that, with an education, he will be able to find employment, allowing him to become financially stable and change his living for the better. 

When he’s not studying, James sings in his church. He also loves playing basketball in his hometown.
