JOURNEY
- April 16, 2024 – Our students shared what was most meaningful to them from our recent Leadership Development Workshop. Faith said: “Thank you for the opportunity you’ve given us to say how the conversation impacted us. On my side, I was impacted by compassionate leadership and personal growth. As Uncle Jim said “compassion is to suffer with someone”. As leaders, it means putting ourselves in the other person’s shoes as we walk with them, working with them to accomplish our goals as leaders. Compassionate leadership nurtures growth by creating an environment where individuals feel supported, valued, and motivated to develop their skills and capabilities. When leaders show empathy, understanding, and encouragement, team members are more likely to feel safe to take risks, learn from failures, and explore new opportunities for growth. Additionally, compassionate leaders often provide mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback, which further facilitates personal and professional development within the team. Overall, compassionate leadership is instrumental in fostering an atmosphere conducive to continuous growth and improvement.”

BIO
Faith grew up in a family of eight people – both her parents, an elder brother, a “cousin brother,” a “cousin sister,” together with herself and her twin brother. In addition to being farmers, Faith’s parents are also pastors. Faith’s parents valued education and worked hard to send all of their children to school. Growing up in a small, rural community had both its challenges and its blessings. But Faith is determined to make a better life for herself, her family, and her community. Faith attends the Adventist University of Central Africa, where she is studying Accounting. Her dream is to find a way to bring more opportunities to her community, including jobs, education, and healthcare. Outside the classroom, Faith is a worship leader and intercessor in her church.
