    • September 13, 2021 – Dondo shared his favorite song and what it means to him: “My song is called “Breathe” by Maverick City: Every time I listen to it, I am reminded of the divine mission I was sent to do on Earth. I am also reminded that I am not on Earth to satisfy my endless desires, but to glorify the heavenly Father who sent me on a mission here on earth!! I am reminded that I breathe because I must worship and submit to the divine mission that I have to accomplish before the end of my life.”
    • July 16, 2021 – Dondo shared what resilience means to him: “I define resilience as one’s ability to stay strong amidst challenges and be optimistic of the good times ahead after the challenges that one is facing.”
    • March 1, 2021 – Dondo said his biggest lessons from 2020 were: “In 2020, I learned that there is no proper time to begin working on one’s vision as the unexpected things like Coronavirus may happen at the time you excepted to begin. I learned that the future is something we create not something we enter into. I also learned that the next generation of heroes are those who make sacrifices and serve their communities in time of needs and spread a message of hope to the hopeless, restore the broken hearts, and sow the seeds of peace, unity and reconciliation in the hearts of the people they serve.”
    • July 1, 2020 – We asked our students what makes them proud of their culture, and Dondo said: “I really like how Burundian culture honors “Excellence” and that is seen in my daily life by the desire I always have to use my potential so as to shine and excel.”
    • March 30, 2020 – Dondo speaks French, English & Kirundi.
    • March 30, 2020 – Dondo said his favorite drink is African tea.
    • September 1, 2019 – Dondo spent his summer connecting with people who have similar vision and dreams for the future so that they could be an encouragement to one another!
    • May 18, 2019 – This semester, Dondo learned that “life is not all about its duration but it is all about its donation and that I should use all my energy to give to the world what God has put in me so as to make this earth a better place to live in beginning with where I was born.”
    • February 9, 2019 – When asked to define servant leadership, how that applies to his life now, and his future career, Dondo said: “Servant leadership is serving beyond self interest and minding the interest of the people you are serving, without expecting any reward from them. Servant leadership is applied in my life now especially through my community impact project, which is to mentor and equip high school students with principles of highly effective people so that they can be empowered and serve their communities.”
    • November 19, 2018 – Dondo wants to be known for having been a pen which writes happiness and also an eraser which erased pain from people’s hearts! He hopes his life creates hope and joy for those who feel hopeless!

Growing up in Burundi, Dondo feels as if he has never seen a truly peaceful environment. But even after losing his brother several years ago, he still has hope that a “group of thoughtful people can make the whole world a better place to live.”  

Knowing the world is driven by a combination of business and politics, Dondo has chosen to pursue a degree in International Relations to fulfill his goal of bringing peace and prosperity to his country. He is excited to bring his strong moral compass into this field, encouraging positive relationships within and between countries, and building businesses in a socially-conscious way. 

Through the monthly leadership trainings he has attendedDondo has become someone who stands in the gap in his family, his nations and to the needy people he encounters. He has learned to love unconditionally and he has acquired the joy of giving back to his community through the community impact projects. He is determined to bring peace and be an agent of transformation in his country.  

Dondo loves singing with his church choir and also spends his free time mentoring high school students.
