Donah is the sixth-born in a family of twelve people. She was raised by her parents and older siblings. She grew up in a rural community in Uganda. While her community had limited access to resources and infrastructure, Donah feels her village was like a school in that she learned so much from growing up there. Growing up, Donah and her family shared a commitment to their home and community. These values helped foster a sense of teamwork and taught her valuable lessons about cooperation and collaboration. Donah’s family’s main source of income is agriculture and livestock. They use some of their crops and cattle for their own purposes, but they also sell the surplus at the market to help pay for basic needs and school fees. Unfortunately, Donah’s father passed away, and it has been a difficult time for her family. Despite the challenges, Donah feels her family and community have provided her with a foundation of love and support. Donah says her family has helped her understand the importance of unity in fostering individual and societal growth. 

Now, Donah attends the Adventist University of Central Africa, studying Accounting. Donah hopes to use her degree to become an entrepreneur. She knows that a university education will equip her with the knowledge and skills she’ll need, especially in business administration. In her home community, she often had to travel long distances in search of goods and services. She hopes to help develop her community through innovation and addressing specific needs. 

Outside of the classroom, Donah is a choir leader at her church. She also volunteers in her community, such as participating in community development projects and planting trees to improve the environment.
