David comes from a close-knit Rwandan family. David grew up with his siblings, parents, and his grandmother. The loss of David’s father’s job caused considerable financial challenges and instability for David and his family. David shared that this ongoing struggle helped shape his family’s focus on resilience, responsibility, and caring for others. These same values were also echoed in the community in which David grew up. Community members shared what they had and worked to find solutions despite consistently scarce resources. For David, these experiences inspired his passion for entrepreneurship. He sees entrepreneurship as not just a pathway to personal success but as a “tool for building solutions that create stability and opportunity for others.” 

Now, David is studying Entrepreneurial Leadership at the African Leadership University. David hopes to apply his degree towards building a career where he can focus on developing sustainable business solutions that address real-life community challenges, encouraging economic and social growth. Ultimately, he aims to “lead impactful projects that inspire self-reliance and inclusive growth.” 

Outside of the classroom, David enjoys working on small business ideas to benefit his community in practical ways.. He also enjoys reading about business, leadership, and technology as it helps him focus and improves his thinking. He loves participating in youth and community activities, especially as a mentor.
