Babrah is the seventh of ten children born into her family. Growing up, Babrah’s family faced many difficulties. Babrah’s family fled Rwanda due to the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi. Living as refugees in another country made life extremely difficult for Babrah and her family. Without citizenship, they lacked access to education and other resources. Babrah’s family was eventually able to return to Rwanda, but they had to rebuild their lives from scratch. Babrah’s new community also lacked basic resources, with limited access to schools and little support for educating girls. These realities made Babrah determined to work even harder to pursue her education. In addition to her determination, Babrah’s mother and older brother have supported and encouraged her education. 

Now, Babrah is excited to study Accounting at the University of Kigali. She hopes to become an auditor and help reduce corruption. She also dreams of being a voice for children in rural communities, especially young girls. She hopes to help educate parents about children’s rights and the importance of education. 

In her free time, Babrah loves to read and learn new things.
