Alice grew up in a supportive agricultural community in Rwanda. One of six children, Alice was born to a loving and encouraging family. As farmers, Alice’s parents have at times struggled with affording basic necessities and school fees. In addition to her family’s struggles, Alice also faced challenges in her community, such as limited access to resources such as nearby hospitals and schools. Adding to these challenges were land disagreements between community members due to a lack of effective land planning. These experiences inspired Alice to pursue a degree in Surveying and Geomatics Engineering. 

Now, as a student at the University of Rwanda, Alice dreams of using her degree to help develop proper land measurements, map making, and supporting building projects. Her goal is to contribute to community development by ensuring that land is used and managed properly, benefiting both government and individual citizens.  

Alice loves to learn about others’ experiences through conversations with her friends and elders. She also enjoys visiting new places and learning how other cultures live.
