Justin Zoradi founded TNHF in 2007 after traveling in South Africa and seeing the need for higher education and community transformation in the Cape Flats Townships. He has an MA in International Conflict Resolution from Portland State University and a BA in Communication Studies from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA.
He loves the Portland Timbers, green tea, and his lovely wife and their 6 chickens.
Sarah Michaelis is a graduate of the University of San Diego and has a Masters of Public Administration and Nonprofit Management from Portland State University. Sarah has worked for a number of nonprofits and brings a deep understanding of the foundational elements of the nonprofit sector.
Brenda Buchanan (Director of Communications & Development)
Brenda Buchanan is a Portland native and holds a BS in Social Work and a BA in English from Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon. Brenda believes in the power of communication in bringing people together and creating new levels of understanding of the world around us.
Brenda loves everything about the Northwest, whether that means hiking on one of the lucky sunny days or taking a writing break at a local coffee shop.
Matt Gromley graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with an Associate of Science in Video Production. Matt traveled all over the world doing various non-profit work before making his way to Portland to work for TNHF. He is passionate about using film to convey a person's story.
When Matt isn't busy working in the Portland film industry, he enjoys playing music, eating salmon and watching TV (entirely too much TV).
Morgan grew up in Portland and is a top performing International Development student at Portland State University. She is committed to using her education to spread awareness of global issues and compassionate giving.
Alongside working with TNHF, Morgan attempts to cook, listens to a lot of NPR, and spends time with her dog Scout.
Rev. Edwin Louw holds a BA in Theology from the University of Fort Hare (Nelson Mandela & Desmond Tutu's alma mater) and an MA in HIV/AIDS Management from Stellenbosch University.
He loves cricket, creating educational opportunities for young people, and his family.
Beata Gelderbloem holds a Diploma in Marketing and Sales Management from Peninsula Technikon and believes education is the key to a brighter future for South Africa.
Her interests include entrepreneurship, politics and exploring the diversity of different cultures. She enjoys showing off Cape Town, entertaining at home and her dog, Phoebe, is the love of her life.
