Position Overview

These Numbers Have Faces (TNHF) is looking for a motivated Social Media and Marketing Intern with an interest in the fields of Marketing, Fundraising, Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism to join our team.

This role requires engaging local and national communities in helping to advance the TNHF mission of empowering young people to reduce poverty in their communities.

The TNHF Social Media and Marketing Intern will gain professional experience in the fields of social media, market research, fundraising, advertising, media relations, and communications while learning about the non-profit community and the inner-workings of an international NGO.

 

Learning Objectives

The Social Media and Marketing intern will gain professional experience in applying social media marketing strategy within the non-profit sector, donor management best practices and outreach, building partnerships with non-profit, for-profit and artist communities, planning and executing fundraising events, and learning about the inter-workings of NGOs.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks

The Marketing Intern, in addition to other assigned projects, will:

-     Assist Director of Communications and Development and Executive Director in website fundraising and participate in strategy discussions on how to best reach out to new and continuing donors.

-     Manage all donor relations activities including, but not limited to sending out contribution receipts and thank you notes/packages and calling donors when the need arises.

-     Contribute to the composition of TNHF materials, including brochures, campaigns, grants and grant reports, blogs, and webpage materials.

-     Design and implement marketing campaigns through Facebook Advertising and the TNHF website.

-     Compose and design articles for the TNHF blog on subjects related to TNHF scholars and the Community Impact Model, TNHF news, educational equality, youth empowerment, current African news, NGO awareness and promotion, etc.

-     Manage daily Facebook, Twitter, Blogging communications

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

-       College Graduate or minimum Junior student standing

-       Strong writing ability

-       Basic design skills, including experience with Photoshop

-       Initiative to carry out projects

-       Creative problem solving ability

-       Devotion to and belief in the TNHF cause
