JOURNEY

    • July 7, 2018 – This school year Sandra took a few difficult classes that were challenging for her, but she was able to study hard, prioritize her time, and finish well!  This summer, she is looking forward to visiting family and friends in different parts of Rwanda, continuing her internship in community pharmacy, and reading books on clinical pharmacology so that she can learn more about different types of medicine!
    • May 12, 2018 – Sandra values the word of God and friendships, because both have directed, protected and helped her to become who she is today!
    • March 25, 2018 – When Sandra was younger, she wanted to be a doctor because her mother was sick a lot and Sandra wanted to be able to help her! In five years, she hopes to be working on her master’s degree in Pharmacy!
    • Feb 27, 2018 – Sandra said when she was little people use to call her Sandi, which means a small bird, because she was always very chatty! The person who inspires Sandra is her friend Vanessa, because she always reminds her to stay focused on her goals and to never give up no matter what the circumstances may be, she also encourages Sandra to pray and trust in God!
    • Jan 25, 2018 – An impactful book that Sandra has read is Never Give Up. The two most interesting part to her were when it said, “The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today,” and “Do not quit until you are proud.”
    • Nov 11, 2017 – Prudence is thankful for the gift of life God has given him. He is looking forward to celebrating Christmas because he loves spending time with his family!
    • Oct 8, 2017 – During her summer holidays, Sandra had the opportunity to visit patients in one of the Rwandan hospitals. She said one of the most impactful things was how the patients have so much hope and faith despite the situation they are in. She is excited to continue to learn more about the use of medicine as a pharmacist, and hopes to encourage people in her community to better understand the importance of proper medicine use.

BIO

Sandra describes her community as a place where everyone works together for the well-being of all. Even when she lost both of her parents to illness, her older brother and community stepped in to support her.

Knowing education is the key to leadership and personal development, Sandra is pursuing her degree in Pharmacy. She actively participates in groups that combat AIDS and serves patients at local hospitals. Sandra not only wants to help those who are physically sick, she also wants to educate her community, empowering them to live a better life!
