BioAs a Rwandan born in Uganda, Nicolas didn’t feel settled into his community as a child. He experienced first-hand, the result of poor leadership characterised by exclusivity and hatred. This encouraged him to strive for more.
Nicolas has a large family that has seen many difficulties, and when he was young he and his siblings made the difficult decision to leave school to provide financial support to the family. Although many of his siblings never went back, Nicolas returned to school, and completed his secondary education. Nicolas is now pursuing a degree in Public Health, working alongside his studies to continue providing for his family. His motivation for this career is because he wants to be an advocate for prevention and continue to build up a strong and active health system. His hard work and persistence are a model to his siblings and community.
Nicolas is a worship leader at his church and has participated in serving his community by cleaning houses for widows with his youth group!
