    • February 9, 2019 – When asked to define servant leadership, how that applies to her life now, and her future career, Jolie said: “Servant leadership is the leadership that is willing to serve and also focuses mainly on the people and how to improve their lives in different areas. To link that up with my life and career, being aware of others is one of my values. I want to be attentive. Listening to people is crucial in my career. Because we design for people, we have to understand all kinds of people and situations.”
    • November 19, 2018 – Jolie wants to be known as a passionate architect who was not afraid to follow her dreams and never settled for less than her full potential! Most of all, she wants to be known for being a world changer!
    • July 7, 2018 – This last school year there were two classes that Jolie had to take that were challenging for her. However, she was able to spend most of her time focused on those two classes specifically. She worked hard and was able to overcome her challenges and pass her classes! This summer, she is looking forward to doing her last academic internship for school!
    • May 12, 2018 – The two things Jolie values the most are people’s ideas and advice, because they are what help lead her in the right direction.
    • March 25, 2018 – When Jolie was younger, she dreamt of becoming an engineer because she was always interested in construction and wanted to be able to build a house for her family! In five years, she hopes to own her own construction company that is working towards making global change!
    • Feb 27, 2018 – Jolie said the person who inspires her the most is her father, because he is hard working and never ceases to sacrifice for his family!
    • Jan 25, 2018 – Jolie recently read Rich Dad, Poor Dad. The idea of being nice to your kids, leading them well and mentoring them was very interesting and impactful for her.
    • Dec 15, 2017 – On Christmas, Jolie explains that people celebrate by decorating Christmas trees, buying new clothes and dancing traditional dances called Amaraba. Jolie thinks the word her friends would describe her as is “courageous” because she loves working hard and doing things that inspire younger boys and girls in her community.
    • Nov 11, 2017 – Jolie is thankful for the way she has continued to grow and develop herself this year, she is also thankful for her family and that they get to enter a new year together! She loves being able to spend christmas time with her family.
    • Oct 8, 2017- This summer, Jolie completed an internship with a local construction company. She is excited to start her fourth year of her Architecture program and is committed to working hard!
    • March 28, 2017 – When asked about the 3 things she values most, Jolie said people, knowledge and advice from others, and empowering young women!
    • Feb 13, 2017 – Jolie feels most empowered when she sets goals and achieves them!
    • Jan 17, 2017 – Life isn’t without challenges. Last year, a challenge Jolie faced was realizing how hard work & dedication require sacrifice. From this, Jolie learned her biggest values are working hard & being focused, for they are keys to success.
    • Dec 8, 2015 – 2017 is a big year for Jolie! To work toward her dream of starting her own architecture company, she will be applying to get jobs with firms in Kigali to help develop her skills and experiences!
    • Nov 20, 2015 – When asked about what she’s thankful for, Jolie said her relationship with God, the support of TNHF, and her dad, who is more than a hero to her!
    • Oct 14, 2015 – Jolie learned a great deal in the last year. Facing your challenges, instead of running from them builds strength. Jolie’s words of wisdom? “Determination helps to achieve anything you want to achieve.”
    • July 20, 2015 – This summer Jolie has an internship with an engineering firm in Rwanda! She’ll be using software to help with construction projects in the Eastern Province. We’re so excited she’s getting such great real-world experience!
    • April 8, 2015 – Jolie has a class project to design a lodge! While Jolie’s goal is to design affordable housing, projects like these help her learn about techniques and styles she enjoys!
    • March 30, 2015 – When Jolie is stressed, she says she likes to listen to music, dance or play sports with her friends. What great ways to de-stress!
    • March 2, 2015 – Jolie’s Community Impact Project is teaching people about water harvesting. Her hope is that increased knowledge and awareness about clean water will improve their quality of life!
    • Jan 5, 2015 – A tradition in Jolie’s family is that all her relatives come to her home to celebrate the Christmas holiday. Jolie says it’s a lot of fun to have everyone together, preparing meals and catching up!



Jolie grew up in Kigali and studied physics, chemistry and math in high school. She aspired to go to university and chose her major based on what she believed her country needed. Jolie decided to study architecture, with the hopes of owning her own construction company. She wants to contribute to the creation of affordable, sustainable housing and work towards making global change! , and wants to one day be running her own construction company in Rwanda.
