Kingdom Hope - Normandy Park, WA

In 1996, Claude and his family fled violence in their home in DR Congo and sought refuge in Rwanda. In the first refugee camp, however, their safety wasn't secure. His mother was killed in the Mudene Masacre, and shortly after, his family left for Gihembe Refugee Camp, where they have lived since. Claude was left to raise his siblings and step-siblings after his father's death, but he still remained committed to his studies. He has chosen to pursue a degree in psychology in hopes of bringing healing and restoration to the people of his community who have suffered so much. With his University degree, he will be able to help support his siblings and help give them the opportunities to receive a higher education.
