Exciting things are happening at These Numbers Have Faces! The World Cup Benefit Bracket is growing (which means more funding for our students), we’re gearing up for the launch of a new campaign, our students are doing an amazing job in school, and three of the five interns arrived this week!
Imagine being defined as reckless. A person forgotten and even unloved because you forgot to love yourself first. According to a 2008 South African National Youth Risk Behavior Survey, South African teenagers in Cape Town “have more sex, use more drugs, drink more alcohol and are more violent than their counterparts in the rest of the country.”

Growing up in a white suburb of Cape Town where soccer was considered a “black” sport, current South African defender Matthew Booth grew up playing cricket, rugby and tennis. Despite soccer’s overwhelming popularity in South Africa, all-white schools did not offer the sport.
