BREAKDOWN OF COSTS
The flight to Rwanda is by far the most expensive portion of the trip and we've seen flights fluctuate in price anywhere from $1,100-$2,400. The most popular routes are with Delta/KLM through Amsterdam or on Ethiopian Air Addis Ababa. We have a spectacular travel agent ready to help, or you're welcome to use your own travel methods. We are committed to making this portion of your trip as affordable and efficient as possible. No matter how you get there, all we ask is that you arrive on the same day as the entire team.
Hotel: $555 (standard room) $935 (pavilion room) for 7 nights
We stay at Hotel Chez Lando in Kigali. Chez Lando is a great hotel for a great price. The rooms come at various price points and they are clean and comfortable. A nice breakfast is included and the hotel features a restaurant and bar, meeting rooms, and free internet.
Transport: $200 for the week
We hire quality drivers and vehicles who will take care of us all week.
Food: $500 for the week
Breakfast is provided by the hotel, lunches may include "African food" while we're out and about, and we'll eat at nicer restaurants in the evening with food from all over the world. The food in Rwanda isn't spectacular, but you'll have opportunities to try local fare alongside meals you're accustomed to.
Rwanda Administration Payment: $500
The Rwanda Administration Payment reserves your spot on the trip and ensures our team on the ground are 100% ready to welcome you to Rwanda for a life-transforming experience!
Additional Safari Options: After the week with These Numbers Have Faces, you are welcome to enjoy an additional safari experience. We'll gladly get you set up with one or both of these options.
- Akagera Wildlife Reserve - $500 for transport, lodging, park passes, and food. Highlights include Elephants, Hippos, Crocs, Buffalo, Giraffes, and more.
- Rwandan Mountain Gorilla Experience - $2500 for transport, lodging, park passes, and food. Led by expert guides through the Rwandan jungle, this once in a lifetime experience gets you up close to mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. An experience you'll never forget!
*All costs are estimates based on current pricing and previous experience. Pricing for safari experiences can range based on the type of a trip preferred.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TRIP?
See the FAQ's below or email Lauren Eads, our Director of Global Impact: email@example.com with any questions you have.
HOW DO I BOOK MY FLIGHTS?
Upon registration you will be asked if you'd like assistance with your flights. You are welcome to use our travel agents or book your own flights using reward travel or online resources. All we ask is that you arrive to Rwanda on the same day as the rest of the team and we will be there to greet you!
IS THERE A DEPOSIT?
Yes, a $500 deposit is required as the "Rwandan Administrative Payment" to hold your spot. Spots on our trips are extremely limited, so you'll want to reserve your spot as quickly as possible. The registration fee is non-refundable, unless the trip as a whole is canceled.
IS THERE ANY TYPE OF TRAINING BEFORE WE LEAVE?
Yes, before the trip we will gather the entire group for one or two 1 hour virtual conversation and brief training. You will also receive an extensive information packet & packing list to make sure you are 100% prepared for the trip.
HOW CAN I MAKE AN INVESTMENT?
Our model allows individuals to make designated gifts through the US office in support of an Accelerate Academy graduate. These funds are distributed to the entrepreneur as 0% loans, paid back over a set time period. As a valued partner in this loan, you will receive financial reports and regular updates as loans are repaid to the organization, and you will even have the opportunity to redistribute those funds once the loan is returned!
DO I NEED TO PREPARE ANYTHING TO PRESENT TO THE ENTREPRENEURS?
This trip is about personalized coaching and relationships. We will provide you with all of the information you need to get to know the entrepreneurs before arriving to Rwanda, but we do not expect you to prepare anything before arriving. We will give you all of the tools you need to coach these young business leaders.
DO PEOPLE SPEAK ENGLISH?
Yes. Everyone will speak English with you. The major languages in Rwanda are Kinyarwanda, French, and English and you won't have any trouble communicating with people.
ARE THERE ANY HEALTH ISSUES?
Rwanda is in a Malaria zone, so it's essential that you get a cheap anti-Malaria prescription and sleep under the mosquito net above your bed in the hotel. Typhoid & Hepatitis A are recommended by most travel clinics. The Yellow Fever immunization is not required unless you are planning to travel to or from other countries with high-risk of Yellow Fever. Learn more: CDC: Rwanda Travel Information
CAN I DRINK THE WATER?
We recommend bottled water for all drinking. The hotel will give you a bottle every day and we'll have cases of water for you and in the van. The water is totally fine for your shower, hand washing, brushing your teeth, ice with beverages, in food, etc.
AM I GONNA BE "ROUGHING IT" FOR THE WEEK? SLEEPING IN A DIRT HUT WITH NO ELECTRICITY?
No. The hotel we stay at, Chez Lando, is a very comfortable hotel. While nothing fancy, the rooms have hot water, modern bathrooms, TV's, and more. Consider the rooms like a Best Western, Motel 6, or standard 2 to 3 star American hotel. Your room will be cleaned every day and your belongings will be very safe in your room.
IS RWANDA SAFE?
Rwanda is clean, safe, and politically stable. You'll feel safer in Rwanda than in most big cities in America. The genocide was over 20 years ago and while we will spend time learning about its effects, you are in zero danger of any type of political or civil unrest. Rwanda also has a very low crime rate and you are at a very low risk of petty crime.
WHAT ABOUT MONEY? CASH, CREDIT CARDS, AMERICAN DOLLARS?
Your hotel, transport, and food expenses will be invoiced by us before the trip, so you wont have to carry money to pay for most items. You will have a $30 VISA fee when you arrive in Rwanda and we do recommend you bring a few hundred dollars in cash for gifts and emergencies. The vast majority of Rwanda is a cash economy, so you can't only rely on credit cards.
IS THERE ANY TIME FOR A SAFARI?
Yes. After the week with These Numbers Have Faces, you can add on a safari for a few days before you leave Rwanda. There are two great options that we are happy to help arrange for you. Note — A safari day is not included in the travel dates above.
